I am really interested in stage design and I thought that this production that I saw at the RBC Center in Raleigh was particularly well done. The show was called Walking With Dinosaurs and it featured 13 different life size animatronic dinosaurs that moved around the stage. The entire production was greatly enhanced by the lighting design. Lights were used not only to highlight what was happening on the stage but also to create the environment on the stage. Lights with different colored gels and different patterns were used to give the illusion of grass, footprints and even rain.
